Instructor Training – 16 – 40 hours a week, based on enrollment agreement.
Licensing Requirements – Instructor
To become a licensed Instructor in Tennessee, a student must hold a valid cosmetologist’s, manicurist’s, or Esthetician’s license for a minimum of three (3) years, issued by the State Board. They must have a high school diploma, HiSET or possess a GED. They must complete 300 hours of approved training (within a period of six months or served as an instructor trainee for one year), graduate from an approved school, and pass both state board exams, theory and practical ($67.00 each test). Graduates must then request their official TN state license and pay the fee to the State of TN to receive their instructor license. Students must then request their official TN state license and pay $80.00 to the State of TN for their license.
