When you meet Abbey Pitts, Student of the Month for May and again for June, you know why she has been achieved this goal not twice, but three times (she was also student of the month for February).
“When I started at TSPA, I was motivated to become a level 4 and to strive to be the best that I can be as a student. I feel very honored to be Student of the Month again.”
We asked Abbey what is the greatest obstacle that she had to overcome to achieve her goals. She tells us: “My confidence level, staying true to myself and being who I am no matter what other people think. I’ve made changes a lot in that area, I am more confident and my work as a stylist is better because of that.
Ignoring what others think is sometimes difficult in our industry, but she agrees with what industry leader Michael Cole tells us at each of his classes: other peoples opinion of me are none of my business.
Having goals helps her to stay on track and prepare for life in a salon when she graduates. Abbey’s favorite thing about TSPA is the hands-on experience and working with real people, not just mannequins.
After graduation Abbey will be going to work at Double Image Salon in Mount Juliet. “I am looking forward to working with the stylists there (some of them TSPA graduates) and making a great living.”
Abbey’s advice to other TSPA students: try your hardest and never give up because you can do anything you put your mind to. You got this!

Joshua 1:7: Only to be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to the law that Moses my servant commands you. Do not turn into the right hand or the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.
